Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan (SAINS) is a private company incorporated under the Companies Act 1965 on 19 September 2008 and was assigned to take over the role and function of the management of the water supply system in Negeri Sembilan from Jabatan Bekalan Air Negeri Sembilan (JBANS) beginning January 1, 2009. (SAINS) is a owned subsidiary of the Minister of Negeri Sembilan (Corporation) or the Chief Minister of Negeri Sembilan Incorporation. However, the State Government to hold one (1) "golden share" worth RM 1.00 in SAINS that entitles the state to implement any policy / policies deemed necessary from time to time.

SAINS responsible in ensuring quality water supply for all citizens of Negeri Sembilan. SAINS is also responsible for ensuring improvement in the quality of services provided to each client. SAINS responsibilities include:

• Production and distribution of treated water to consumers in the area of distribution
• Maintains the existing infrastructure and dams
• They form new infrastructure and operational improvements
• Developing alternative sources of raw water in accordance with the guidelines set by the State Government
• SAINS is a licensed agency of Surunhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN) under Section 4 of the Water Services Industry Act 2006.
